This is a list of the first land owners of Avon Township.

The list, which was compiled from the names listed in the Bureau of Land Management General Land Office Records website and cross checked with the book

" First Land Owners of Oakland County" written and published by the Oakland County Genealogical Society in 1981.

The date of final proof and and date of patent was taken from the book "The First Land Owners of Oakland County", the rest if the information is from the general land office records. Some individuals do not have a land description, these individuals are listed in the book First Land Owners of Oakland County and not listed in the general land office records. Public lands went on sale at the Detroit Land Office in 1818, with the exception of section 16 in each township, which had originally been set aside for schools, and was not available to the public until 1845.
